Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Resolution 2018-98.
Background
The City of Franklin periodically receives state and federal funding for some of its transportation projects. In order to maintain eligibility to receive these funds, the City must comply with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) procedures that are required by law, regulation, rule, policies, and standards.
TDOT requires the local government to comply with its Consultant Selection Policy for Projects Funded in Whole or in Part with Funds Provided by the Federal Highway Administration or the Tennessee Department of Transportation (Local Government Guidelines Form 1-2). The City last adopted this policy in 2013 via Resolution 2013-31. Since that time, TDOT has revised the policy. The most current version is dated March 9, 2018.
The purpose of this resolution is to state the City’s intent to comply with current and future versions of this policy, relative to projects that include federal and/or state funds.
