*Consideration of a Professional Services Agreement (COF 2015-0287) with TRC Environmental Corporation (TRC) for an Ecological and Archaeological Survey for the Spencer Creek and South Prong Drainage Basin Sanitary Sewer Project

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) for the consideration of the Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with TRC for an Ecological and Archaeological Survey for the Spencer Creek and South Prong Drainage Basin Sanitary Sewer Project.

Background

The Spencer Creek and South Prong Drainage Basin Sanitary Sewer Project includes the installation of approximately 2,200 LF of 36” gravity sanitary sewer line.  As part of the project we are required to obtain a permit from the Corps of Engineers.   The Regulatory Specialist assigned to this project is requiring the City to complete an ecological and archaeological study prior to the issuance of permit.  TRC has submitted a scope of services to do this work in the amount of $22,500.

Financial Impact

The cost as negotiated with TRC for the surveys is a total amount not to exceed $22,500.  Based on the work involved, the proposed cost is appropriate and will be paid out of the Sewer Operating Fund.

Recommendation

Staff recommends approval of the Professional Services Agreement with TRC (COF Contract No. 2015-0287) for an amount not to exceed $22,500.  Approval shall be contingent upon final contract review and approval by the City Engineer and City Attorney.
