body
Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) with information to consider a professional services agreement with Gresham Smith and Partners for the right-of-way plan revisions associated with the Franklin Road Project.

Background
BOMA approved an agreement between the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), the City of Brentwood and City of Franklin on March 6th, 2013 to acquire all Rights-of-Way and Easements needed for the project. City staff has requested modifications to the plans as reviewed during a recent field review meeting with TDOT and the Gresham Smith and Partners.  These modifications generally include the addition of a 6'buffer zone between the curb line on the east side of the roadway and the proposed 10' multi-use path.  This buffer zone is essential to ensure the safety of the general public and allow a location for signage, mailboxes, utilities, etc.

Financial Impact
The cost associated with this revision is a lump sum fee of $7,000.
