Consideration of Revised Supplement #1 to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) Contract No. 7913 (COF Contract 2012-0161) for the Relocation of Water Lines as a part of the I-65 Widening/Goose Creek Interchange Project. (02/05/15 CIC 4-0)
body

Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Supplement #1 to the existing contract with TDOT (Contract No. 7913) for the relocation of the water lines as required for the I65 Widening/Goose Creek Interchange Project.

Background
The original contract was approved by BOMA at the October 23, 2012 meeting.  Due to various revisions made by TDOT the plans have been updated to reflect these changes.  This has in turn caused the construction cost and engineering fee to be increased. TDOT has provided the City with their standard contract supplement for the required relocation.  The original Supplement #1 was approved by BOMA on October 9, 2014.  Staff submitted Supplement #2 for this contract to include easement and inspection costs to TDOT in July 2014.  TDOT recently resubmitted Supplement #1, which was revised to include Supplement #2, to the City.   TDOT Management tries to limit the number of supplements to contracts that require the Commissioner's signature.

Financial Impact
No Financial Impact.  The contract supplement will increase the reimbursement amount the City will be eligible for associated with water line relocation for the I-65 and Goose Creek Interchange Project.
