body
Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning an agreement that allows for data sharing between the City of Franklin and City of Brentwood
Background
The City of Franklin and the City of Brentwood are currently subject to a mutual non-exclusive license for the sharing of geographic information systems (“GIS”) data. It is the intent of both parties to continue to provide a non-exclusive license agreement to each other to enable the parties, their employees, or contractors approved by Franklin or Brentwood (“Authorized Users”) to share GIS mapping information for the benefit of each party’s respective citizens/customers.
In order to provide effective communication between both parties, City staff has worked to create an agreement, which will allow the sharing of GIS data between both parties. This is a 30 year agreement, which will benefit both parties and enhance their abilities to serve their citizens/customers.
Financial Impact
There is no direct financial impact with this agreement. This is a no cost agreement between the two organizations.
