Consideration of Amendment No. 4 to TDOT Agreement 060118 (COF Contract No. 2011-0028) for the Hillsboro Road Improvements Project (PIN 108409.00) (11/30/17 CIC 4-0)
body

Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the proposed Amendment 4 to the TDOT Funding Agreement 060118 (COF Contract No. 2011-0028) for the Hillsboro Road at Claude Yates Drive Improvements Project.

Background
The completion date of the Hillsboro Road at Claude Yates Drive Improvements Project was established as December 31, 2013 by Amendment No. 1 to the City's contract with TDOT. Amendment No. 2 extended the contract completion date until October 31, 2016. Amendment No. 3 extended the contract completion date to October 31, 2017.

Amendment No. 4 is a proposed extension of the TDOT Agreement completion date to October 31, 2018. This amendment will keep the TDOT contract open through 2018, so the City can continue to be reimbursed for the remaining available Federal construction funds. It is staff's opinion that this project can be fully completed by Spring/Summer of 2018. The project is currently nearing substantial completion by the end of 2017.

Included with this agenda item are the following attachments:
1. Amendment No. 4 agreement for execution
2. Revised Amendment No. 4 Exhibit A

This amendment only changes the project completion date as recognized by TDOT. The contract between the City and the contractor remains unchanged.

Financial Impact
There is no additional financial impact for the City in regard to this Contract completion date extension.
