Purpose
The purpose of this contract is to authorize the City to utilize The Interlocal Purchasing System Program (TIPS) cooperative purchasing arrangement.
Background
Resolution No. 2009-50 authorizes the City to participate in cooperative purchasing arrangements for procurement purposes “deemed by the City Administrator to be potentially advantageous to the City so long as it is (they are) designed for use by public sector agencies including Tennessee municipalities such as the City of Franklin.” The Interlocal Purchasing System Program has been so deemed and a membership agreement has now been executed and is attached.
Financial Impact
Staff anticipates using The Interlocal Purchasing System Program cooperative purchasing arrangement from time to time as the basis for pricing for the occasional purchase of sundry goods and services.
