Consideration of Resolution 2015-19 "A Resolution to Approve an Alignment Study for Carlisle Lane and Del Rio Pike" (06/09/15 WS)
body
Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) to consider approval of an alignment study for Carlisle Lane and Del Rio Pike.
Background
City staff has been working with the property owner of 1048 Carlisle Lane on a proposed development plan. Prior to approval of the development plan, City staff asked the developer to provide an alignment study and local street plan that would accommodate the future improvements along Carlisle Lane and specifically address the issues at the intersection of Carlisle Lane and Del Rio Pike. The purpose of this study is to ensure that the City is reserving the appropriate right-of-way to allow for the future improvements along this corridor.
City staff held a public meeting on April 9, 2015 to meet with the adjacent property owners to obtain as much public input as possible. Options A-F have been developed based on feedback from numerous impacted property owners. Staff is recommending approval of Option D with future consideration for a roundabout at the intersection of Carlisle Lane and Del Rio Pike.
