Consideration of a DRAFT Professional Services Agreement (COF 2016-0238) with Barge, Waggoner, Sumner & Cannon, Inc. in the Amount of $31,755 for the Preliminary Site Design of Fire Station 7 (Goose Creek Area)

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the preliminary design of Fire Station 7.

Background

In 2014 the City of Franklin and Williamson County entered into an interlocal agreement.  The interlocal agreement requires the city to provide sanitary sewer service to the Ag Park.  In return, the County will transfer a portion of the Ag park property, approximately 2.5 AC, for the construction of Fire Station 7 and future extension of Goose Creek Bypass.   The City plans to bid out the sewer project in the next few months and needs to start the preliminary design of Fire Station 7 so that we can better understand and define the 2.5 AC that the County is obligated to dedicate to the City.

The scope of services includes:

1)                     Project Kickoff Meeting

2)                     Preliminary Design of Goose Creek Extension Project.  (This work is necessary to determine the finished floor elevation of the future fire station).

3)                     Preliminary site design.

Financial Impact

$31,755 will be paid out the Capital Improvement Fund to cover the cost associated with this work.
