Consideration of Resolution 2018-79 - A Resolution to Revise the Organizational Chart within the Fire Department (09/13/18 Finance 4-0)

Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a minor reorganization of the Franklin Fire Department.
Background
In the FY 2018 Budget, the BOMA approved the position of Fire Inspector Supervisor to assist the Fire Marshall complete reviews and inspections in a timely manner. The Franklin Fire Department had difficulty, however, in filling this position. This reorganization simply eliminates the position of Fire Inspector Supervisor and creates a second Assistant Fire Marshall position instead. Both positions are the same grade on the City’s Compensation Plan.
Financial Impact
There is no financial impact based upon approval of Resolution 2018-79. The positions being created and eliminated are the same Grade (H) and were budgeted accordingly.
