Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to give the Board of Mayor and Alderman information regarding the purchase of required Right of Way and Easements for the Hillsboro Road Improvements project.
Background
On October 21st, 2014, staff met with Mr. Kevin Fortney, Facilities Manager for the Williamson County Schools, to discuss and make an offer to purchase the required Right of Way and Easements for the Hillsboro Road Improvements project. An appraisal completed by B.G. Jones and a review appraisal completed by Standifer and Associates valued the State Right of Way at $14,850.00 and the City of Franklin easements at $63,550.00. At this time Williamson County Schools is also taking this item to the School Board for consideration.
Financial Impact
The purchase price as appraised is $14,850.00 for the State Right of Way and $63,550.00 for the City of Franklin Easements. These costs are incorporated in the project budget for the Hillsboro Road, Phase 2 project.
Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of COF Contract 2014-0305 and COF Contract 2014-0327.
