Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning entering into a lease agreement with the Franklin Baseball Club for seven years with an option to renew for an additional three year extension. 

 

Background

Franklin Baseball Club (FBC) has been organizing baseball in Franklin for 50-years as a non-profit organization.  Over 1,600 players participate every spring and fall through the generous support of sponsors and volunteers. FBC’s is committed to enriching the lives of our youth and fostering the love of baseball by providing a positive, team-oriented environment for players of all ages and abilities. Franklin Baseball utilizes all baseball fields at Jim Warren Park and Liberty Park and is a major partner with the Franklin Parks Department.

 

Financial Impact

The Lessee, FBC, will pay the City of Franklin Parks Department a total sum of $4,277.28 for the 2016 season and such amount shall include utilities.  The rent shall increase by four percent (4%) compounded annually and increase to five percent (5%) for the extension should both parties agree on the extension.
