Consideration of Resolution 2015-36, a Resolution to Fund Improvements to the Emergency Radio System (07/09/15 Finance 3-0)

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the funding of the Joint Communications Network project.

Background

In 2014, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved an interlocal agreement creating a Joint Communications Network with the City of Brentwood and Williamson County governments.  The City may choose to fund their share of the project through a loan with the Tennessee Municipal Bond Fund.  This resolution would allow the City staff to move forward with the application for such a borrowing.

Financial Impact

The total cost anticipated for the City of Franklin share of the $18 million project is $2.6 million.
