Acknowledgement Of Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract 2015-0108) With Ferrell Madden LLC In An Amount Of $5,000 For The Purpose Of Conducting A Form-Based Code Public Presentation And Workshop..body
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a contract between the City of Franklin and Ferrell Madden LLC signed by Eric Stuckey, City Administrator, on behalf of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen
Background
Following the Smart Growth America presentation and workshop last March, members of the Planning and Sustainability Department's Infill Working Group expressed interest in learning more about form-based zoning, an alternative zoning mechanism that focuses on physical form. Other community members have long expressed interest in pursuing a form-based code in Franklin. In response to this growing interest, the Planning and Sustainability Department sought assistance from Ferrell Madden, a Washington DC-based firm, to provide the public as well as the City's elected and appointed officials with an overview of form-based zoning and how a form-based code might work in Franklin.
Financial Impact
The cost associated with this Professional Services Agreement between the City and Ferrell Madden LLC is $5,000.
Recommendation
rec
The City Administrator has authorized this agreement to allow Ferrell Madden LLC to conduct a form-based code public presentation and workshop.
