Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning status updates for some of the City's street projects.
Project Status
A. Mack Hatcher Parkway NW Extension
BOMA Priority Ranking: N/A (Highest Priority)
Key Dates: Design Start - August 14, 2007 (BOMA Approval); Re-Design Completion - October 2014 (Estimated); ROW Start - December 2009 (ROW Meeting Scheduled); ROW Completion - June 2012; Construction Start - Currently Not Funded; Construction Completion - Currently Not Funded;
Cost: Design - $3,502,501; ROW - $13,397,520 (Provided by TDOT); Construction - $58,700,000 (Provided by TDOT)
Status Update: TDOT has agreed to build the full intersections at SR96, Hillsboro Road and Del Rio Pike as a part of the 2-lane Mack Hatcher Parkway construction. The designer is completing final plans comments, as requested by TDOT.
B. Hillsboro Road Improvements (Independence Square to Mack Hatcher Pkwy)
BOMA Priority Ranking: #1
Key Dates: Design Start - March 24, 2008 (BOMA Approval); Design Completion - October 2012*; ROW Start - March 2013; ROW Completion - September 2014*; Bid Date - November 2014*; Construction Start - January 2015*; Construction Completion -May 2016*

Cost: Design - $1,324,221 (Design fees include the SR96-IndSq Project as well); ROW - $3,000,000; Construction - $11,000,000.00 ($1,750,000 Reimbursable through State and Federal Approved Funding)
Status Update: ROW Acquisition is still ongoing. All offers have been made. Waiting on closings and condemnation proceedings to start. Construction Plans are complete. Will hopefully have TDOT concurrence to bid the project in March/April.
