Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning COF Contract No. 2017-0257.

 

Background

This is our annual joint-funding agreement between the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the City of Franklin.  The agreement is for the maintenance of five continuous streamflow gaging stations on the Harpeth River near Franklin, TN.  The agreement will run during the period of October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018 and is for a combined total of $62,250.  USGS contribution is for $18,675 and the City of Franklin’s contribution is for $43,575.  The streamflow gaging stations help for the purposes of flood forecasting and warning, managing water and maintaining instream flow levels for threatened and endangered species.  

 

Financial Impact

$43,575 paid out of the approved FY 2017-2018 Engineering/Stormwater Budget
