Consideration of Resolution 2015-17, A Resolution Awarding The Construction Contract (COF Contract No 2014-0272) To Layne Inliner In The Amount Of $1,411,950.00 For The Annual On-Call Sanitary Sewer And Manhole Rehabilitation Project (05/12/15 WS)

Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) regarding our Water Management Departments Annual On-Call Sanitary Sewer and Manhole Rehabilitation Contract.

Background
Over the past few months the Engineering Department and Water Management Department have been working on an annual on call contract for Sanitary Sewer and Manhole Rehabilitation.  The goal of this contract was to obtain competitive pricing to help with rehabilitation projects throughout the City.  This contact will allow the Water Management Department to issue work orders throughout the year for various projects to help expedite the delivery of various capital projects.

This unit price contract can be extended for a second year with approval by the Water Management Department and a third year with Board of Mayor and Aldermen approval provided that Layne Inliner agrees to the extension.

Financial Impact
Funding for this contract will be paid out of the Water Management Department's Annual Budget.  While these services are used on an "as needed" basis, the approved budget includes $2,687,000 for rate-funded capital projects including rehabilitation/repairs of this nature.
