Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Resolution 2018-84, “A Resolution Authorizing Condemnation for the Acquisition of Property for the Mack Hatcher Northwest Extension Utility Relocations Project”.
Background
The Mack Hatcher Parkway Northwest Extension is a project that the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the City of Franklin have deemed a priority. In order to construct this roadway there will be extensive utility relocations. There are two easements that remain to be obtained for the water line relocation along Hillsboro Road. This Resolution authorizes staff to proceed with condemnation as a last resort in the event negotiation with the property owners fail.
