Consideration of Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with EG&G (a Division of CT Consultants, Inc.)(COF Contract No. 2012-0188) for Additional Limited Construction Engineering and Inspection Services on the Hillsboro Road Improvements Project, SR96W to Independence Square (Phase 1) (11/12/14 CIC 3-0)
body

Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to bring forward to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) a proposal from EG&G (a Division of CT Consultants, Inc.) to modify their existing Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract 2012-0188) for the Hillsboro Road Improvements Project, Phase 1.

Background
On January 22, 2013, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract 2012-0188) with EG&G for Limited Construction Engineering and Inspection Services for the Streetscape, Street Lighting, and Electrical Distribution items on the Hillsboro Road Improvements Project, SR96W to Independence Square (Phase I).

This Amendment #1 includes the following:
1. A budget amount of $54,100 was negotiated with the EG&G in January, 2012. At that time, EG&G cut their projected budget per the request of the City in order to keep fees to a minimum. The budgeted fee, as of August 31, 2014, has been exceeded by almost $600. At this time, EG&G is requesting additional fees to cover the additional labor and expenses incurred by them, as well as their electrical engineering sub-consultant, to perform the punch list and assist in project close out, as well as any additional labor that may be incurred to assist in project close out.
2. See the attached proposal (Exhibit A) for additional explanation.
