Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with OHM Advisors to design the improvements to the existing water line along Bobby Drive, which is located in the Grassland area, for an amount not exceed $55,313.00.
Background
The existing water line in Bobby Drive is a two-inch (2") and six-inch (6") in diameter line. It is currently being fed by the twelve-inch (12") diameter water line along Hillsboro Road to a six-inch (6") diameter water line in Overlook Drive and a six-inch (6") diameter water line in Jefferson Davis Drive. The purpose of this project is to upgrade the existing water to either a six-inch (6") or eight (8") line and with a tie-in to the existing thirty-six inch (36") diameter line on the east side of Hillsboro Road. One of the tasks for the consulting engineer is to perform an analysis to size the water line that will be installed on Bobby Drive. In order to save on funding, the Water Management Department will construct the water line in-house. It is also our intention to coordinate the repaving of Bobby Drive with Williamson County Highway Department.
Financial Impact
The cost as negotiated with OHM Advisor for the design services is a total amount not to exceed $55,313.00. Based on the work involved, the proposed cost appears to be appropriate.
