body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to present Resolution No. 2017-49, a resolution approving and authorizing the Mayor to endorse the Lockwood Glen Development Plan and Rezoning owner’s affidavits on the City’s behalf for the newly acquired Robinson Lake property for the purpose of allowing the Robinson Lake Property to be removed from the Lockwood Glen Planned Unit Development and be rezoned to the Civic-Institutional Zoning District.

Background

The City acquired approximately 77 acres of vacant land located on the west side of Carothers parkway commonly known as Robinson Lake. This land is currently a part of the Lockwood Glen Planned Unit Development (PUD). The property will need to be removed from the PUD, and given a more appropriate zoning district of Civic Institutional (CI).  To do this, a PUD development plan revision will need to be filed, as well as a rezoning for both the Lockwood Glen development and the City property.  As all planning applications require owner affidavits for all lands involved in an application, the application will need to include an owner affidavit for this city-owned land.

Financial Impact

Staff is not aware of any additional financial impact of the City in approving and signing the owner affidavit for future Lockwood Glen development plan and rezoning submittals.
