Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the status of some of the City's stormwater projects.
Project Status
A. Jackson Lake Dredging Improvements
Key Dates: Design Start - 9/9/2008; Design Completion - June 2010; Bid Date - February 15, 2011; Construction Start - May 2, 2011; Construction Completion - Summer 2015*

Cost: Design - $69,400.00; Construction - $1,663,931.73
Status Update: Actual dredging operations are complete. At this point, it has been determined that no additional sediment can be removed via hydraulic dredging operations. Approximately 13,000 CY of sediment has been removed. Contractor has not been able to remove the material through the winter months.
B. 100-Block Battle Avenue Drainage Improvements
Key Dates: Design Start - July 24, 2012 (BOMA Approved); Design Completion - August 2015*; Easement Acquisition Start - August 2015*; Easement Acquisition Completion - December 2015*; Bid Date - January 2016*; Construction Start - March 2016*; Construction Completion - August 2016*

Cost: Initial Study - $46,500.00; Final Design - $131,700.00 (Including upcoming Amendment 1 of $68,200.00); Construction Estimate- $1,200,000.00
Status Update: The Board approved moving forward with the project on December 9, 2014. Design Amendment 1 for $68,200.00 will go to CIC in April for approval.
C. Figuers Drive and 400-Block Battle Avenue Drainage Improvements
Key Dates: Design Start - November 26, 2013 (BOMA Approved); Design Completion for Preliminary Design- November 2014; Easement Acquisition Start - TBD; Easement Acquisition Completion - TBD; Bid Date - TBD; Construction Start - TBD; Construction Completion - TBD;
Cost: Initial Design - $82,000.00; Final Design - TBD; Construction - TBD (engineering estimate)
Status Update: Final preliminary design is complete and was presented to the BOMA in March. Engineering is working with our consultant, Neel-Schaffer, to prepare a final design PSA.
D. Ralston Creek (Cheswicke Farms) Stream Restoration
Key Dates: Design Start - July 2013; Design Completion - December 2014; Bid Date - January 13, 2015; Construction Start - May 2015*; Construction Completion - July 2015*

Cost: Design - $57,050.00; Construction - $89,061.00 (bid amount)
Status Update: The bid opening for construction of this project was held on January 13, 2015. The City received 2 bids. A resolution to award this construction contract to Viking Products, Inc., the apparent low bidder, will be on an upcoming agenda.
