SUBJECT: Stormwater CIP Status
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to update the Board of the status of some of the City's stormwater projects.
Project Status
A. Jackson Lake Dredging Improvements
Key Dates: Design Start - 9/9/2008; Design Completion - June 2010; Bid Date - February 15, 2011; Construction Start - May 2, 2011; Construction Completion - November 2014 (Estimated)
Cost: Design - $69,400.00; Construction - $1,663,931.73
Status Update: Contractor is nearing the completion of dredging operations. At this point, it has been determined that no additional sediment can be removed via hydraulic dredging operations. Approximately 13,000 CY of sediment has been removed.
B. 100-Block Battle Avenue Drainage Improvements
Key Dates: Design Start - July 24, 2012 (BOMA Approved); Design Completion for Drainage Study- May 2013 (Estimated); Easement Acquisition Start - October 2015 (Estimated); Easement Acquisition Completion - December 2014 (Estimated); Bid Date - January 2015 (Estimated); Construction Start - March 2015 (Estimated); Construction Completion - July 2015 (Estimated);
Cost: Initial Study - $46,500.00; Final Design - $63,500.00; Construction - $600,000.00 (engineering estimate)
Status Update: Design is 70% complete. The preliminary design was presented to the CIC on May 28, 2014. Because of some public concerns about the scope of the project, a neighborhood public meeting was held on August 5, 2014. Questionnaires were sent to the residents on August 8, 2014, to gather neighborhood "buy-in" of the project. Once all of the resident information is gathered, staff will bring this to the board for direction.
C. Figuers Drive and 400-Block Battle Avenue Drainage Improvements
Key Dates: Design Start - November 26, 2013 (BOMA Approved); Design Completion for Preliminary Design- September 2014 (Estimated); Easement Acquisition Start - TBD; Easement Acquisition Completion - TBD; Bid Date - TBD; Construction Start - TBD; Construction Completion - TBD;
Cost: Initial Design - $82,000.00; Final Design - TBD; Construction - TBD (engineering estimate)
Status Update: On August 7, 2014, our consultant proposed their final recommendations for the Figuers Drive area to staff. Once some minor tweaks to the design are completed, staff will present the information to the board.
D. Ralston Creek (Cheswicke Farms) Stream Restoration
Key Dates: Design Start - July 2013; Design Completion - January 2014*; Easement Acquisition Start - November 2013* (Creek Buffer Coordination); Easement Acquisition Completion - N/A; Bid Date - October 2014*; Construction Start - November 2014*; Construction Completion - March 2015*

Status Update: Design of this project is nearing completion. A public meeting will be held to discuss final design with Cheswicke Farms residents.
