body
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a proposal from Hethcoat & Davis, Inc. to modify their existing Professional Services Agreement for the Goose Creek Sanitary Sewer Extension Project from West of I-65 to the East Side of I-65 Improvements Project.
Background
On September 9, 2014, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract No. 2014-0177) with Hethcoat & Davis, Inc. for the preliminary engineering of the Goose Creek Sanitary Sewer Extension Project from West of I-65 to the East Side of I-65 Improvements Project. This professional services agreement, at a cost of $120,725.00, allowed Hethcoat & Davis, Inc. to provide the City with a detailed plan to extend sanitary sewer across I-65. During the design process, it was suggested that the reclaimed water line should be extended to parallel the proposed gravity sanitary sewer line, as shown in the Reclaimed Water Master Plan. This proposed amendment would include the reclaimed water design in with the existing sewer extension project.
Financial Impact
The original Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract No. 2014-0177) with Hethcoat & Davis, Inc. was at a not-to-exceed cost of $120,725.00.
Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract No. 2014-0177) with Hethcoat & Davis, Inc. is in the amount of $11,810.00. This creates a new not-to-exceed total contract cost $132,535.00. All costs will be paid for out of the FY2015-2016 Sewer Operating Fund.
