body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a consultant being hired by the Parks Department to provide consultation for future arena maintenance and drainage solutions.

Background

The Parks Department completes all maintenance required at the equestrian arena at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm. As the department prepares for the future, consultation with a professional in this type of maintenance is essential to maintaining a high-quality equestrian arena. The consultant will provide a soil assessment to ensure the proper materials are being used inside the arena. He will also provide consultation for repairs to be done on the arena to help resolve drainage issues currently taking place. The consultation will take approximately one day.

Financial Impact

The payment to the consultant is five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) and necessary travel expenses. The City’s travel policies have been provided to the consultant, and any reimbursements will be paid under the City’s policies.

Recommendation

rec

Staff recommended the City Administrator approve the contract for consultation services. The contract was subsequently approved and signed by the City Administrator on December 10, 2019. This memo is meant to bring the agreement to the Board’s attention for acknowledgement.
