Consideration Of COF Contract 2019-0292, An Updated Water Service Area Agreement, Entered Into By And Between Milcrofton Utility District Of Williamson County, Tennessee, And The City Of Franklin, Tennessee. (WS 10/8/19)

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning an updated Water Service Area Agreement between Milcrofton Utility District and the City of Franklin, Tennessee to clarify several discrepancies with the current water service area map and areas being served.

Background

The City’s serves water to customer located within the City limits, in addition to the Milcrofton Utility District providing water to the eastern portion of the City.  These two districts lie closely together in several areas, and several areas exist in which the boundary between the two entities has become misunderstood.

This contract will allow for clarity between the two water providers, in addition to outlining several areas in which will be moved from the City’s service area to Milcrofton’s service area upon redevelopment.  This Contract will also allow for the new Southeast Park to be served by the City of Franklin, to include reclaimed water services.

Financial Impact

No financial impact is anticipated from the acceptance of this contract.
