body
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Contract 2018-0171 with Pinnacle Constructors, Inc. for reimbursement related to road cut repairs on Liberty Pike necessitated by the water line upgrade project performed by Milcrofton Utility District.
Background
Pinnacle Constructors has constructed a water line upgrade on behalf of Milcrofton Utility District, known as the Liberty Pike Water Line Upgrade, that required three road cuts at the following locations:
§ Liberty Pike and Oxford Glenn: repair cost - $6,345.00,
§ Liberty Pike and Turning Wheel: repair cost - $5,000.00, and
§ Liberty Pike in the vicinity of the Jones Company Property: repair cost - $6,500.
The work required three road cuts as permitted through the City Street Department which subsequently required full width pavement restoration. To perform this work more efficiently and to avoid a piecemeal approach in restoring the roadway the City will perform milling and resurfacing of Liberty Pike through the City’s major road resurfacing program.
Financial Impact
By performing this work in-house, the contractor has reimbursed the City for the cost to perform this work through the City contractor for a total of $17,845.
