Consideration of Resolution 2018-78 - A Resolution to Revise the Organizational Charts within the Police Department and City Court. (09/13/18 Finance 4-0)

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a revision to the organizational structure of both the Police Department and City Court to consolidate Court Security and Parking Enforcement functions.

Background

In order to maximize staff efficiency and provide better and more reliable Parking Enforcement and City Court security, this future resolution seeks to combine the roles of parking enforcement and City Court Security officer into one position. Both of these positions as part-time roles have been difficult to fill, and we believe that their consolidation will result in better and more reliable court room protection and parking regulation enforcement.

Financial Impact

There is no financial impact as a result of Resolution 2018-78. Sufficient resources are being transferred into the City Court budget through Ordinance 2018-44, the first budget amendment for FY 2019.
