body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the consideration of COF Contract No. 2018-0087, Agreement with The Jones Company of Tennessee, LLC for Reimbursement of Cost for Sanitary Sewer Collection System Improvements.

Background

In January of 2018, a site plan for the Moss Property PUD Subdivision (Foxglove Farm) was submitted for review and the proposed sewer was consistent with the City’s basin studies for that area.  As a condition of site plan approval, the City of Franklin is requiring the 1,689 linear feet of sanitary sewer main planned for the development to be upsized from the proposed 8-inches in diameter to 12-inches in diameter to match what is shown in the basin study for future growth in this area.  Pursuant to Section 18-208 of the Franklin Municipal Code, the developer (The Jones Company of Tennessee, LLC) is eligible for reimbursement of the difference in material costs ($11,640.00) because of the required upsizing of the main.

Financial Impact

$11,640.00, reimbursed as a right of offset against fees otherwise due from the Developer.
