Consideration of Amendment #2 to the Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract No. 2011-0076) with Smith Seckman Reid for the Mack Hatcher Parkway Water and Sanitary Sewer Relocation Project in the amount of $7,850.00 (4/26/18 CIC 2-0, 1 Recusal)

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Amendment #2 to the Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract No. 2011-0076) with Smith Seckman Reid for the Mack Hatcher Parkway Water and Sanitary Sewer Relocation Project.

Background

During construction of the recent Hillsboro Road widening project there were several conflicts between utilities that resulted in the electrical/communication duct bank being installed too close to and with multiple crossings of the existing 8-in sanitary sewer line in front of 916, 918, and 920 Hillsboro Road and the Williamson County Animal Control parcel at the southeast corner of the Hillsboro Road and Mack Hatcher Parkway intersection.  In order to get the widening project completed and get the electrical conduit installed, the utility conflicts were allowed realizing that the 8-in gravity sanitary sewer line would need to be relocated.  This Amendment No. 2 includes the survey and design for this relocation as well as the creation of the necessary easement documents to relocate  the line.

Financial Impact

Increase in the existing PSA in the amount of $7,850.00
